Aaron and Brett Fortunoff are great examples of young people with a desire to give back to their community, and a plan to make it come true. When the Westport, CT brothers learned breakfast cereal was on the ‘most needed items’ list of food banks in their area, they organized a community-wide Cereal4all Drive that filled a lot of empty bowls.
Aaron and Brett’s December 2022 drive collected over 1,000 boxes of cereal to benefit several Connecticut food banks. That’s the equivalent of 10,000 bowls of cereal to help feed disadvantaged children & families struggling with food insecurity.
The brothers also did fundraising and generated awesome donations for Cereal4all to carry out our hunger-fight mission across America.
How did Aaron and Brett do it?
• They used flyers and social media to let neighbors know about their cause.
• They created an Amazon wish list so friends & family around the country could donate boxes of cereal.
• They got permission from their favorite local supermarket, Stop & Shop, to set up a table outside so customers could buy cereal during their visit and donate it on the way out. The brothers spent many hours at the table over the weekend.
• They also got their synagogue to put a cereal donation box at the entrance. Thank you Temple Israel of Westport and all places of worship for always being so giving!
Between school and sports and all the other stuff that keeps us super busy these days, Aaron and Brett still made time to strengthen their community and give breakfast & happiness to people in need. Cereal4all is honored to team up with them and have them as Ambassadors at the nonprofit!
