Privacy Policy
Cereal4all is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 88-3360884) dedicated to fighting hunger and encouraging youth volunteerism. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website (cereal4all.org) and our Student Volunteer Program (SVP), how we use it, and your choices. By using our site or participating in the SVP, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Information you give us when you sign up and participate:
- Your name, email address, age, ZIP code, and the school, club, or organization you’re from
- The food bank where you’re volunteering and a screenshot confirming your session
- Names and emails of friends you choose to add as joining you
- Photos you upload of your volunteer session and cereal donation
- Your questionnaire answers about your experience
- Your choices about how you’d like your service hours verified and how your photos may be captioned
Information collected automatically: Basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) and cookies, used to keep the site working and secure. You can manage cookies through the consent banner on our site.
How we use your information
- To run the Student Volunteer Program — verify your volunteer session, grant service hours, and provide your chosen verification (a letter, a school-platform response, or a signed form)
- To communicate with you about your participation (confirmations, reminders, approvals)
- To share photos and stories that encourage other students to volunteer (see below)
- To operate, improve, and secure our website and programs
Photos and public sharing
As part of the SVP, we may post participants’ photos publicly — on our website, social media (Instagram @cereal4all), and similar channels — to inspire other students. Photos are captioned according to your selection (full name or first name only). You provide this permission through the photo-release acknowledgment when you submit your volunteer completion.
Children under 13
The Student Volunteer Program is intended for students age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not sign up. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it. A parent or guardian who believes their under-13 child has provided us information may contact us at FightHunger@cereal4all.org.
Minors (ages 13–17)
If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must agree to your participation and to our use of your photos, which you confirm when you submit the completion form. Parents and guardians may contact us anytime to review, update, or delete their child’s information or request removal of photos.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With trusted service providers who help us operate (for example, our website host, form and workflow tools, and email delivery), bound to protect it
- With your school or its verification platform, when needed to confirm your service hours at your request
- When required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of participants and our organization
Data security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and limit access to those who need it.
Your rights and choices
You (or a parent or guardian, for a minor) may access, correct, or delete your personal information; request removal of your published photos; or opt out of non-essential emails. To make a request, email us at FightHunger@cereal4all.org.
Third-party links
Our site may link to other websites (such as food banks or partners). We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here.
